“No, I can’t cut my hair now. I just got a divorce.”

Gotten a divorce and ready to start dating again? Then you’ve got to look good.

But let’s face it. A lot women get a bit too comfortable in themselves during their married lives and then when they are ready to start dating again they look in the mirror and face a person their younger selves would not even recognize. And then, added to that, all of this happens when they might be struggling just to make ends meet.

But there’s someone who can help — Tatiana Aquino who has just launched her blog Style with a HINT of Mint.

Here’s what she says about her mission:

Surprise whoever is on your path… Be different from everyone else… Have a twist to the perfect outfit. That’s me! That’s my MOTTO! I’ve always loved being unique… Being Different from everyone else…Having a TWIST to the perfect outfit. That’s where Style with a HINT of Mint comes from… Wearing something that has a hint of the unexpected.

Always have the element of surprise when it comes to an outfit whether it’s on price (expensive with affordable) or putting an outfit together without following the “rules.” Why follow the rules when you can MAKE the rules? Who invented the rules anyway? Take a risk !! Mix and Match in unexpected ways…. Uniqueness is beautiful. Why would you want to look like everyone else?

My mission with this blog is to show you that you can find amazing things wherever you are. Look for clothes that speak to your personal style. YES, I like to wear and buy expensive things , but there is nothing more amazing than taking the expensive and affordable or the trendy and classic and combining them to make one great outfit. Thinking in a new box is your HINT of mint.

If you’ve sunken into a beauty rut and want to get out, then check out Style with a HINT of MInt and feel free to pass it on.

We don’t know, but the question arose after reading two articles:

  • One about drinking problems contributing to divorces;
  • One about the shape of drinking glasses altering the speed at which people drink.

The first article presented research reported in the  May 2013 issue of the Journal Alcoholism: Clinical & Experimental Research. It turns out that, “The risk of divorce is estimated to be tripled when the husband’s level [of] drinking is low and the wife’s drinking is heavy, compared with couples where both drink lightly,” study researcher Fartein Ask Torvik of the Norwegian Institute of Public Health said in a statement.

The second article reported the result of research that suggests that people drink more quickly from curved glasses as opposed to straight ones. This could be because it is easier to see halfway points on a straight glass than on a curved one, so pacing yourself is harder when drinking from curved glasses.

If you find yourself drinking more than you planned or thought, maybe changing the shape of your glass will help.

Please note that we know this may sound like a simplistic solution and that there are some people who need more help then just changing the shape of their glass. However, I know from personal experience that the shape of the glass does make a difference in drinking speed. That’s why we are brining it up here.

Classic style as worn by Garance Dore and seen on her blog of the same name.

Achieve it by wearing a fedora, trench coat, skinny jeans, and loafers.

Have super narrow feet like me (Tracy)? Then try Selve, a company that makes customized shoes for both men and women. You choose the style from their collection and they will make shoes that fit your feet. My loafers come from them as I have really narrow feet.

FYI: My loafers are black, matte, with a rubber sole (for winter weather) and a pink inner lining that makes me smile every time I put them on.

A word of warning. They aren’t cheap, but you get what you pay for. I’ve had mine for over 5 years and I’ve been known to run through shoes in less than a year.
